As part of my Master's program, I have been chosen to attend the National Math Conference in San Diego, CA. I got here last night, and had most of the day today to just hang out. Since I was still on central time, I woke up at 6:30 am Pacific Time. This gave me a lot of time to explore. Unfortunately, the weather has been a little cool and windy, with intermittent rain storms. My hotel is a block from PetCo field, so I decided to attend the day game today. While I only got to stay for about 3 innings, it was quite enjoyable. I'm looking forward to eating out at some of the restaurants I walked by today. The nicest thing is that the program is covering all my meals. I'll steer clear of the Mexican restaurants though. I'm not ready for rice and beans yet. :)

Unless they've built a new stadium since then, I was at that same stadium in the mid '80's. Went to San Diego for a week long training class and so we took in a San Diego Padres game one evening. Have you seen Shammo at Sea World yet?
ReplyDeleteLooks like a nice stadium, Andy. I went to my first outdoor Twins game last night, and it's great watching baseball in the outdoors. A little chilly last night, but worth it.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your Math Conference. I want to challenge you to a Round the World Flashcards tournament when you return. I've been practicing...
Ben, I don't have to find the old practice cards that we made in Terre Haute and send them to you do I? You know- the blue ones with an occasional funny face to help reduce the stress of nightly practicing. I think you were always trying to beat Andy Gruivara weren't you?
ReplyDeleteRound the world. Meh. That's old school. :)
