Another neat story

I've been taking a Balanced Literacy class offered through my district.  Usually the class members take turns providing dinner. Well, this month I've been bringing my rice and beans instead of eating that food.  As I was microwaving my rice and beans, I had to explain to one of the teachers, Laura, why I wasn't eating the dinner someone provided. So, I told her about dollar-a-day and how we would be going on our mission trip in the summer.  She said she was considering going on a mission trip this summer too, except to Spain.

I told her my youth leaders from Junior High, Debbie and Giles, are now missionaries in Spain. Well, it turns out that Debbie and Giles had visited her church and she had decided to go serve in Spain with them this summer.

A couple weeks later, Laura and I were talking again in class.  She said that she hadn't been sure about going on her trip, and she was looking for some direction from God.  She saw that random connection as that sign she was looking for, and had booked her ticket to Spain.

Isn't the way God works amazing?  If I hadn't been microwaving my rice and beans that first night, we may never have had that conversation about our mission trips.
