For the month of March, we will each live on $1 of food for each day. We will be posting updates throughout the month of what we spent, what meals we've prepared, and our reflections on the experience. Here are the guidelines we'll be following:
- No stockpiling of food prior to March. We'll only eat what we can buy with our allotted money.
- We will be taking a multi-vitamin so we don't get sick(extreme poverty is considered, by the World Bank, to be$1.25/day, so that $0.25 will cover the vitamin)
- We can't eat free food at work, etc...
- People who know we're doing this can't offer to buy uslunch, dinner, etc...
- The "Rude Rule" is the only caveat. If we find ourselves in a situation where refusing food, from someone that doesn't know about the $1 a day, because of our experiment would be rude, we can accept without a "penalty". Our Mothers didn't raise rude children. :)
What a good doggie Mama you are! Ozzie's getting you ready for parenthood, when you sometimes sacrifice a little bit, for love of the children.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great picture of Ozzie, licking his lips. Love it! Think he knows how good he has it?
